Liwa Dawud, a rebel faction in Idlib province, pledged loyalty to the Islamic State and defected with 1,000 men, 10 tanks, and 150 vehicles.

The government said that the checkpoints removed recently inside Damascus has nothing to do with security, but was instead done to get rid of extra checkpoints and keep 1 in front of every security branch.

It was leaked that on June 28th, Lebanon arrested a spy-ring of 4 people associated with the Syrian opposition. The group was apparently supposed to spy on Hezbollah-held areas which would later be shelled.

In the next few weeks many of the important rebel groups will be sending their leaders or representatives to a meeting, which will most likely be held in Idlib or Turkey.
