      • The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported yesterday that more than 412 people have died since September 16 in the fighting from the Islamic State’s offensive of Kobani.
        • It counted 20 civilians, 17 of whom were executed by the IS in the area around Kobani, and 3 of whom died from shelling on the city.
        • 219 IS fighters have died.
        • 163 YPG/YPJ fighters and 9 fighters from other rebel units have died.

        • Up until now, there have only been a few airstrikes on IS positions around the city.
        • The Pentagon said that the airstrikes are “not going to save the town of Kobani” and that they don’t have a “willing, capable, effective partner on the ground inside Syria” to help in the fighting.
