- The IS went house-to-house arresting people in Albu Kumal. Heavy fighting was seen in the city and the surrounding area, including near the Jabhat al-Nusra stronghold of al-Shhil.
- The IS brought reinforcements to the area through the al-Qa’em border crossing, captured the HQ of the Omar al-Mukhtar Brigade, killing 3 fighters, and captured part of the al-Katef neighborhood.

- The IS captured 25 members of the Army of Islam, as well as weapons and ammo, in the eastern suburbs of Damascus.
- 7 corpses who had been executed and showed signs of torture were found by Jaish al-Islam after they stormed an IS HQ in the Rif Dimashq town of Mid’a.
- The Islamic Front, Jabhat al-Nusra, and Islamic battalions refused to recognize the legitimacy of the IS caliphate.
- 14 people were killed and 50 injured in Idlib city from rebel mortars on government-held areas.
- An airstrike on the rebel-held town of Salqeen in northern Idlib killed 30 people after helicopter gunships attacked a market at sundown.
- The Saudi government said it will serve daily meals during Ramadan to Syrians in Jordan and will pay for 1,000 households for Syrians in Lebanon.
- The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that 7,000 people have been killed by infighting among competing groups in northern Syria. Around 2,200 people belonged to the IS, 2,700 people belonged to Jabhat al-Nusra and other groups fighting the IS, and 650 people were civilians.
- Jabhat al-Nusra and the IS are both focusing on a bread distribution campaign to raise support in Deir Ez Zor. Bread is in short supply since most wheat came from the government, which has a very weak presence in the region.
- 8 government fighters were killed by a rebel attack on checkpoints in the village of al-Rahjan in Hama.
- A pilot, 2 soldiers, and a general were killed in Hama when rebels downed an aircraft near a military airport.
