  • In Eastern Ghouta 3 government soldiers were killed in fighting around Al Marj. In the city of Saqba, government airstrikes killed 4 children and 6 women and injured 32 people.


  • In Qalamoun, air strikes killed 6 fighters from Islamic battalions and Jabhat al-Nusra. 

  • Rebels captured the towns of al-Bhera and al-Qle’a in Aleppo province from the government.

  • Doctors in rebel-held areas in Aleppo say that damage to the water and sewer systems, combined with the severe restrictions in access to medical care, will soon result in an epidemic of water-borne diseases, which have increased dramatically in the last 2 weeks.

  • The ISIL blew up the houses of 3 commanders of the al-Ahwaz Battalion in al-Briha in Deir Ez Zor.

  • Rebels held off government attacks on the neighborhood of Huweiqa in Deir Ez Zor, which was also under heavy artillery fire. Currently rebels in the city are encircled by the ISIL and government forces.

  • Militias connected to the Syrian Republican Guard distributed leaflets in the Jura and al-Qusr neighborhoods of Deir Ez Zor to volunteer for the government militias. It has been theorized that the push is to make up for shortages in the army and militias after the recent heavy fighting between the government and rebels, and due to the movement of Iraqi militiamen back to Iraq to fight the ISIL.

    The ISIL allowed 4 cars carrying releif aid to enter Deir Ez Zor after 15 days of holding the city under seige:

        • The ISIL also criticized Turkey for cutting the flow of water in the Euphrates river to Raqqa.

  • Jihad Makdissi, the former spokesman of the Syrian Foreign Ministry, said that finding a political solution in Syria is now impossible. He also said “Anyone who believes that all of his opponents on the other side are completely conscienceless is wrong. Everyone operates today under the mentality of siege. A little positive thinking without abandoning the national sentiments, the legitimate rights of people and, most importantly, the right to live… could change something in this sad and bloody scene”.

  • 17 people were released from prison under the amnesty in SweidaSawayda province. 50 former rebels who turned themselves in were resettled in Homs.

  • An airstrike on a refugee camp in ShajaraDaraa province, killed more than 50 people.

  • Colonel Muneer al-Matar, the head of the Supreme Military Council in the suburbs of Deir Ez Zor gave an oath of allegiance to the ISIL.

  • Rebels reportedly killed 15 government soldiers in the outskirts of Mleha. SANA said that the government captured 15 “terrorists” in the southwest outskirts of Mleha.

  • The YPG repelled an attempt by the ISIL to advance west of Kobani on the villages of Buraz and Dugirman in Aleppo province.

  • A special operations unit of the Islamic Front killed Ali Bakir, a Shabiha leader in the al-Birnawi area of Hama city.
