  • 8 people were killed by airstrikes on the city of Manbij in Aleppo, which is held by the Islamic State. 

  • 11 rebels were killed in fights yesterday in the western part of Aleppo city. 

  • Rebels captured a military security building, as well as surrounding buildings, in Dahiyat al-Assad in western Aleppo city.

  • 8 people were killed by airstrikes in the village of al-Sheikh Ali in Aleppo.

  • 6 people from one family were killed by a barrel bombs dropped in the southern countryside of Aleppo on the village of al-Zerbe.

  • 6 civilians, including 4 women, were killed by barrel bombs in the village of al-Najeyyi in Idlib province. 

  • A joint offensive was launched in Qalamoun by Jabhat al-Nusra, Jaish al-Islam, The Islamic State, and several Free Syrian Army groups.
    • The inclusion of the IS in the offensive is likely to be significant in future fighting in the region.

  • Around 50 rebels were killed in Qalamoun during a government ambush near the village of al-Jebbe.

    • At least 7 government fighters, 4 of whom were Hezbollah fighters, were killed in al-Jebbe during an attack on one of their checkpoints.
    • 4 rebels were killed in fighting after the ambush. 123 rebels have been killed during fighting in Qalamoun over the last 2 days.

  • The jet that was shot down yesterday in Qalamoun crash landed outside of the town of Deir Atayya. The pilot was taken to the al-Za’im hospital in Homs. 

  • Iranian fighters allied to the government were killed in Homs province between Om-Sharshouh and al-Hawla. 

  • Hezbollah fighters were killed in Homs province when their checkpoint in the Shanshar area was attacked.

  • 4 rebels were killed in fighting around the Tal-Kheder Military Base in Daraa province. 

  • 6 children from a sinlge family were killed by an airstrike around Bosr al-Harir in Daraa province. 

  • Members of the Shiatat Tribe who overran an IS base in Deir Ez Zor province and captured several fighters: 
    • The IS has been gathering forces in order to launch an offensive to retake towns they have been expelled from by the tribe over the last 4 days.
    • The IS had given civilians to today to leave the areas, and apparently began shelling the towns this morning.
    • Fighting has also occured around the IS-held towns of al-Bukamal, al-Tayyana, and al-Mayadeen.

  • A tour around the Division 17 Base in al-Raqqa that the IS recently captured: 

  • Lebanese soldiers were killed by rebels inside Lebanese territory, in an attack on a checkpoint near the Syrian border.
    • 2 others were kidnapped in Arsal when their vehicle was ambushed.
    • Lebanese forces originally arrested Imad Ahmad Jumaa on charges of being a member of Jabhat al-Nusra. Armed men, purportedly Jabhat al-Nusra fighters, then surrounded government buildings in Arsal, demanding his release. After they were refused, they stormed a police station, reportedly killing 2 civilians who tried to stop them, as well as freeing several Syrian prisoners and taking around 16 people in the prison hostage.

    • The Syrian National Coalition condemned the attack on Arsal.
    • The Lebanese Army attacked the rebels in response, killing at least 11 rebels and losing 10 soldiers so far. The Army was quoted as saying “The army will not allow any party to transfer the battle from Syria to its territory”.
    • Syrian refugees in Arsal who were hit by Lebanese airstrikes. Arsal has a high number of refugees living in it.

  • 5 people executed by Jaish al-Islam in Eatern Ghouta outside of Damascus after they were convicted by a Sharia court of being criminals:
