  • Islamic State members died in a “special ops” operation by YPG fighters in Shiukh, west of Kobani.

  • IS members were taken to the hospital by the Jordanian military after they were wounded while attempting to infiltrate the border.

  • The Syrian government reported Wednesday’s execution of 7 men and 7 women by a rebel group in Khattab, Hama, to the UN.

  • SANA reported that three women from one family were mutilated, shot, and decapitated, while one was injured, and one other was kidnapped in southern Hama in Taqsis, the same town where 14 people were executed Wednesday.

  • Rebels captured the village of al-Rahjan in Hama, the hometown of the Minister of Defense, killing 18 government fighters.

  • Suquor al-Izz, an Aleppo based rebel group, pledged loyalty to Jabhat al-Nusra. 

  • The Syrian Network for Human Rights said that 694 of the 215,000 prisoners in Syria were released under the post-election amnesty.

  • The IS took the village of Kandar  from the YPG in al-Raqqa, near Tal Abyad. 

  • The YPG and IS exchanged bodies and prisoners near Sarrin, south of Kobani.
        • The YPG brought 70 prisoners and 50 bodies. The IS brought 400 abductees, including 130 Kurdish students, 32 YPG prisoners, and 68 bodies. The IS kidnapped a man sent by the Mediation Committee overseeing the exchange who brought the bus of prisoners.

  • Belgian academic researcher has joined a group of Belgian fighters with Jabhat al-Nusra and will stay with them for 2 weeks.

  • There are conflicting reports that Abu Mohammad al-Joulani, the head of Jabhat al-Nusra, has declared an Islamic Emirate in Syria.
