  • The Syrian Terrorism Court has excluded several employees from the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression from the amnesty granted for all crimes before June 9. 

  • A judicial official in the Syrian justice system said that that the number of drug trafficking cases in the last 4 months has risen dramatically, reaching 620, including 115 in the area of Damascus. 2013 had less than 500 cases.

  • Brigadier pilot Moussa al-Zoubi, the Chief of Staff of the Yarmouk Brigade, which is one of the largest FSA groups in Daraa province, was kidnapped. The Brigade issued  statement saying that he had been taken in an ambush by masked gunmen in the town of Nusaib on June 28. His kidnapping occurred at the same time as the kidnapping of Colonel Abu Fadi al-Muhr, a commander of the Martyrs of Horan Brigade in Sheikh Miskin.

  • Bassam al-Rayes, a photographer, was executed by the Islamic State in Douma.

  • Talal al-Barazi, the governor of Homs province, toured the town of al-Hosn, west of Homs city, which was captured from rebels and has been cleared of mines and explosives. He said that he has a 3 month plan to reconstruct infrastructure and services. He also said that 70% of the infrastructure had been restored in Kesab, which was taken from rebels in mid-June.

  • The UN said that despite a ceasefire, aid is not being delivered to the besieged Palestinian refugee camp in Yarmouk. Aid, which has only been allowed to be delivered in small amounts, has not been delivered in a month to the 18,000 civilians within the camp.

  • Local rebel groups in northern and eastern Syria have given the opposition leadership a week to send them aid and reinforcements with which to fight the IS, or they will lay down their arms.

  • An Iraqi officer said in a televised interview that he and other border guards were asked by the Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri al-Malaki, to withdraw from the borders with both Syria and Saudi Arabia.

  • Riad Hijab, the former Syrian Prime Minister, said he will not run for the Syrian National Coalition elections planned this week because he would not gather a consensus to back him.

  • Russia issued a draft statement to the UN Security Council to stop the sale of crude oil by “terrorist groups” in Syria. The draft specifically mentioned the IS and Jabhat al-Nusra. 

  • Zahran Alloush, the head of the Islamic Front, said that it is more important to fight the IS than Assad.

  • A man, his wife, his wife’s sister, and her 2 daughters were killed by mortars on the IS-held town of al-Zer by Jabhat al-Nusra in Deir Ez Zor.

     

  • 6 Islamic fighters were killed in the eastern countryside of Deir Ez Zor in Boqeos Badeya in a fight with the IS. 

  • IS fighters were killed and 11 people were injured by an airstrike on al-Attal in Deir Ez Zor.

  • The number of dead in government-held parts of Idlib, which were hit by mortars by Jondo al-Aqsa, has risen to 22, including 3 women and 4 children.
