  • Sergie Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, said that Moscow “is now ready to discuss additional measures” on the distribution of aid in Syria, but blamed western governments and rebels for the areas that aid is currently unable to reach.

  • SANA reported that 10 people were killed in al-Haraki, in Homs province, by a tractor pulling a tanker that was used as a bomb.suicide bomber 6-2-2014

  • Iran said that 10 countries will send observers to oversee Syria’s election.
      • The countries are Bolivia, Venezuela, the Philippines, Tajikistan, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Iran, Russia, and Lebanon.
      • The Conglomerate of Homs Tribes announced their rejection of the elections.

  • Majlis Shura al-Mujahideen (Mujahideen Shura Council), a coalition of the Islamic Front, Jahbat al-Nusra, and the FSA) captured the villages of Al Dahla and Jadid Al Bakara in Deir Ez Zor from the ISIL.

  • The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that 50 people, including 9 children, were killed by shelling by the Badr Martyrs Brigade of government-held areas of Aleppo over the weekend.
      • The Badr Martyrs Brigade is accused of torturing civilians and extorting money.

  • 13 people were killed last night by four barrel bombs in Aleppo.

  • The Radaa Brigade, an Aleppo-based rebel group, has promised “to target all government installations in occupied areas” during the election.

  • Ahmed Jarba, the head of the Syrian National Coalition, warned that the Syrian government is preparing to target voters and polling stations.

  • The Syrian Network for Human Rights announced that 3,200 people died in Syria in May.
      • 1,800 of the people killed were civilians, and 290 were children (averaging about 10 children/day).
      • The ISIL killed 103 civilians, including 34 children, and 317 rebels.
      • SNHR said the actual count is higher, since they do not have access to casualty counts in areas that the government has surrounded and cut communications to and from.

  • At least 5 Hezbollah fighters were killed during fighting in Quneitra.
      • SAAB and Hezbollah fighters clashed with pro-Assad militia who refused to storm the town.

  • Israeli troops fired at an area where three mortars were fired from within Syria, one of which landed in Israel-occupied territory.

  • An Emir for Jahbat al-Nusra was killed during fighting against government forces in al-Meleha, in Reef Damashq province.

  • The Thwar ar-Raqqah Brigade executing an ISIL fighter in the al-Kafifa checkpoint near the entrance to Tal Abyad in Raqqa: 

  • 6 barrel bombs were dropped on the Damascus suburb of Dariya within 1 hour of each other.
