  • The Foreign Ministry reported a 95% overseas voter turnout in countries where it was allowed.

  • Rebels have announced the beginning of the “Battle of the Passageway” offensive in western Idlib after their gains in the area earlier in the week.
      • Rebels captured Ayn al-Suda, bringing them less than 1 km from Jisr al-Shughour.

  • The Islam Army, part of the Islamic Front, made gains near the Damascus suburb of Mleha when it took several neighboring orchards, killing 25 soldiers.

  • Political figures within Syria are readying to announce the formation of a Political Rescue Movement, citing the disunity and exclusionary decisions of the current opposition as a major factor for their formation.

  • The Italian Navy said that in the last 24 hours it has picked up over 3,500 people attempting to cross the Mediterranean, most of whom are Syrian.

  • The water-level in the Euphrates river has been steadily dropping as Turkey has completely cut the water-flow into the country, and is now effecting the dam turbines that generate electricity for many towns and cities, including Aleppo.

  • In Reef Dimashq province there were reports that government forces burned agricultural lands around al-Ghouta al-Gharbiya.

  • 18 ISIL fighters were killed in battles between the ISIL and Jahbat al-Nusra and Islamic groups in western/south-west Reef Deir Izzor and the entrances to Deir Ez Zor city.

  • In Hama city government forces carried out a series of inspections amid a communications/internet cut-off.

  • The ISIL killed a 102 year-old man, his son, his grandson, his grandson’s wife, and his granddaughter in an attack on the village of Zanouba in Hama province. 

  • There were reports that rebels pushed back the ISIL in Deir Ez Zor city, taking back al-Housainiah, Konoco field, and the al-Halabia roundabout.
      • A coalition of the FSA and Jahbat al-Nusra made advances against the ISIL in Deir Ez Zor province today, capturing 19 towns and villages, including the Mheimideh and Husseineih western suburbs of Deir Ez Zor city.
      • Jahbat al-Nusra claimed to have lifted the ISIL siege on the city.
