- Rebels attempted a counter-attack in Homs to break out of the siege, moving into the western half of the Jub al-Jandali neighborhood after detonating a car bomb that killed 5 Syrian troops and NDF personnel. The counterattack was reportedly halted by Syrian airstrikes.

- Two FSA officers in Homs surrendered after threats were made by the regime to kidnap, rape, and kill their wives and children.
- Turkish soldiers found four French journalists who were kidnapped by the ISIL last June with their hands and eyes bound.
- Tribes in Deir Ez Zor in eastern Syria have begun recruiting hundreds of fighters in preparation to fight the ISIS.
